Het LG Amsterdam Tournament is dit jaar extra speciaal. Niet alleen is het de tiende editie, het zal de eerste gelegenheid zijn om Ajax te zien spelen tegen internationale topclubs onder leiding van Marco van Basten! Op vrijdag 8 en zaterdag 9 augustus zal de Amsterdam ArenA weer podium zijn voor een aantal geweldige wedstrijden.
The LG Amsterdam Tournament 2008 will be very special. Not only will it be a celebration of the tenth edition of the tournament, it will present the very first opportunity to come and watch the new Ajax under the guidance of Marco van Basten against top international clubs. On Friday 8th and Saturday 9th August, the 51,000 seat Amsterdam ArenA will, once again, be the stage for a number of excellent matches.
Marco van Basten en zijn staf waren succesvol tijdens het UEFA Euro 2008. Heel Europa was onder de indruk van het spel van het Nederlands Elftal. Helaas eindigde het toernooi voor de Nederlanders in de kwartfinale. Vanaf 1 juli vormen Marco van Basten, John van ’t Schip en Rob Witschge de nieuwe technische staf en dat zal hoogstwaarschijnlijk het begin zijn van een succesvolle periode voor Ajax.
Marco van Basten and his staff were successful during UEFA Euro 2008. All of Europe was impressed by the performances of the Dutch team during the group stages but, unfortunately, the tournament ended in the quarter finals. As from July, Marco van Basten, John van ‘t Schip and Rob Witschge will form the new management team of Ajax which, most likely, will be the start of many successful years.
Het deelnemersveld bestaat ook dit jaar uit gerenommeerde clubs uit de sterkste competities ter wereld; FC Internazionale, Arsenal FC, Sevilla FC en uiteraard gastheer AFC Ajax. Deze ploegen, met een combinatie van internationale sterren en fantastisch jong talent, gaan onderling uitmaken of Arsenal titelhouder zal blijven of niet.
Once again, The International Event Partnership is proud to present four top clubs who will display a mix of talented youngsters and experienced stars which will undoubtedly guarantee a spectacular tournament. Arsenal FC, FC Internazionale and Sevilla FC will compete with host club AFC Ajax for victory in the 10th Edition of the prestigious LG Amsterdam Tournament.
Met Internazionale, keren oude bekenden als Zlatan en Maxwell voor een maal terug in de ArenA. Hoe zal Ajax het gaan doen? De enige manier om erachter te komen.....kom kijken!
